Thankful Thursday

I have been away from the blog for a couple of days now as I've been hosting guests and doing homework. Last week I had Thursday off from school and Nathan, my brother was out of school on Friday, so it was the perfect time for me to take Friday off and my mom and him took a trip over Thursday evening. They were here thru Sunday and we had a great time visiting. Friday we took off for some bargain shopping and hit up a couple of Goodwill's and some thrift stores. I was able to snag up a couple of good deals and we also ate up some yummy cupcakes from a new cupcakery in Downtown Camden. Here is a photo of the treats we enjoyed:
Saturday me and mom got up and did some yard-saleing. Unfortunately we didn't find any great deals, but we did have a great time enjoying each other's company. The boys did a little hunting as well, except they were in deer stands. The weekend flew by but we had a great time and always enjoy the visits.
So....sorry I missed last weeks Thankful Thursday and have been absent for a couple of days trying to catch up with life.
Today I am thankful for:
....family visits: it is such a joy to have my own house now to welcome family and friends into. That is my most favorite part about having a nice home is entertaining in it. We made the party even bigger Saturday evening when I invited Cam & Whit to come over and I made up some yummy chili for the cool fall night and a Homemade Pumpkin Cake with Caramel Cider Sauce. YUMMY!!!
....pumpkin desserts/coffees: I love fall because of the desserts and smells that come with it! I love surrounding myself with pumpkin bread, pumpkin cake, pumpkin spice coffee, pumpkin pie bars, pumpkin spice cupcakes, etc. etc. etc. I LOVE PUMPKIN!! It has that gentle sweet taste that isn't too overwhelming with that hint of spice that catches you. Ooo I'm salivating as I type about it! Unfortunately, Daniel isn't a fan of all things pumpkin so he doesn't enjoy my tasty treats, but that does give me that much more that I get to eat!!!
....country life: I am constantly reminded how thankful I am that I do not live in a "city-city", like Downtown Atlanta City or any other place with big big buildings. I can not stand the city! I want to be out in the country with farms, trees, creeks, deer, four-wheelers, camo, and good ole country folks. I was talking to a girl at work yesterday telling her about how much I love my country boy! Daniel is country thru and thru and I absolutely love that about him!!! He will get dirty, go hunting, fix anything, drink sweet tea, wear boots and T-shirts, the list goes on and on! This is what makes me happy, happy, happy (for those who catch the Duck Dynasty lingo!!!)
