This weekend has been very calm and relaxing so far. We worked so hard last weekend on the house we didn't want to wear ourselves out two weekends in a row, plus it rained here today. So we slept in, ate a late breakfast, and then lounged around the house watching TV flipping between the Olympics and Yard Crashers. Then we decided to get up and go out for a little bit.

We headed to Lowes, not your typical "day out shopping" but if you own a house you understand the joys of going to Lowes. Needless to say I did not know this morning what was going to happen there today. See we are renovating the outside of our house currently and we are taking it step by step. So one thing we were debating on is changing out our current shutters or just refurbishing the old ones. Although it would be a huge pain in the rear to sand and paint the current ones, new ones we thought would be a little pricey. We looked them up online and we thought they would be around $50-70 per shutter, hence why we weren't sold on buying new ones. But we decided to check them out in the store today to see what the actual cost would be. And then it happened. We struck GOLD! We came upon the shutter section and see yellow clearance signs on some of the shutters. Of course, my ears sprung up. So we looked at them to see what they were and they were black, which is what we needed, and surprisingly they were the most expensive style, board and batten. I liked those when looking before but just wrote them off my list because they were the most expensive ones. But today they were clearanced 80%!!!!! And they come in a pack of 2 as well! Seriously I was having a coronary in Lowes. Daniel had to make me calm down. So needless to say we ran back home real quick to make sure that we had the measurements correct and went back to Lowes to make the purchase!! So we bought the 3 sets of shutters we needed today for a total of $52!!!! That's cheaper than one set normally!!!


So I would call us Olympians today as we won gold in our local home improvement store!!
