Turning the house into a home, Our Home

8:23 AM

Wow! It has been too long since I wrote last. I started this post several days ago and just have gotten around to adding the finishing touches to it. School is getting the best of me! Sorry! P.S. This post has tons of pictures so be ready!!

So I took a little break over the weekend as we took a little trip and traveled to visit our family in GA. We had a great time as I was able to spend some time shopping all day on Saturday with my mom, while Daniel enjoyed a day of hunting with his grandpa, uncle, and friend Rod. Sunday we were able to enjoy a nice lunch with Daniels family.

So back to the house. Needless to say we started work on the house the following Monday, December 19th, as we went to Lowes and gathered all of our supplies we would need. Then Tuesday we began! We went head strong from that moment on for the next two weeks! We worked at the house that night and wednesday night until 1:00 in the morning.

Then we had to pack and get ready to head home to celebrate Christmas with our families that Thursday. We had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed the break from the work even though we were running 100 miles per minute visiting with each grandparent and family member. We finally got home Monday evening.

I was off on Tuesday too and Daniel went to work while I worked at the house all day. We worked all that week every night til 12 or 1 in the morning. We were starting to get nervous that we were not going to get everything finished by our deadline of wanting to move in New Years weekend. But thank goodness our families came to the rescue!! My family came into town on Thursday evening and worked all day on Friday while we were at work (so thankful) and left on Saturday. Then on Saturday Daniels family came into town and stayed through Monday. They completely worked their tails off during their stay!! We were so blessed to have their generous help and it was only with their help that we were able to move in that weekend. So our first night sleeping in the house was January 1st, which was an exciting way to start the new year off.

Let me also say that moving is stressful…way worse than I expected. But we made it through it and we're able to get it all in the house in those 2 days. Here are some pictures after we got our stuff moved in and let me warn you it is a mess. Hope you enjoyed all of the photos! I will do detailed posts of each room before and after next!

XOXO
